Dr. Gary L. Hauck, 2018

Gary returned to the FRHM board in 2018, after a brief hiatus between terms that first began in 2011. He has brought student groups from MCC to tour the Museum on a yearly basis since 2009. He holds a PhD from Michigan State University and has taught Local History and Heritage at Montcalm Community College, where he has also served as Dean of Arts and Sciences. He is the author of 19 books, including The Story of Heritage Village, Clifford Lake Inn, Master of Disaster – The Life and Works of Shipwreck Artist Ed Pusick (co-authored with his wife, Lois) and Exploring Humanities Around the World. Gary has visited all fifty states and eight-two countries. He has engaged in archeological digs in the Middle East and South America, and has taught as a visiting professor in China, Russia, and Ecuador.
