Danish Heritage

The Danish began arriving in Greenville in 1856. Fleeing economic and political hardship in Denmark, these new immigrants wrote to their families of their experiences, which inspired large numbers of friends and relatives to follow in their footsteps. The annual Danish Festival celebrates their many Danish contributions to our local community.
